Volunteer Opportunities at LCS

A volunteer is someone who gives from the heart, sharing their time, making the days brighter and the load lighter. Volunteers are treasured and valued and are a blessing to the students and staff whose lives they impact.

Volunteers are an important part of Linden Christian School, and there are many opportunities to help. Pizza Fridays wouldn’t happen without the numerous volunteers who count money and tickets and serve the pizza. Hot lunches are a success because parent representatives organize and supervise. Teachers feel truly blessed by the volunteers who assist in the classroom. The Library runs more smoothly because volunteers prepare books for circulation and organize book fairs. The Fundraising banquet is successful because of the volunteers who work together to provide a beautiful evening celebrating the school. Many of our sports teams are coached by volunteers. Musical programs come alive with the help of volunteers.

There are many more volunteer opportunities at LCS, and each of these provide an opportunity for you to enhance the life of our school. School volunteers must complete a Child Abuse Registry Check and a Criminal Records Check every three years and be approved by administration. Volunteers must also participate in the Plan to Protect training. Please contact the classroom teacher or call the school office if you would like to volunteer.

  • Parent Class Representatives: These volunteers arrange a hot lunch once per month, coordinate with the teacher for any special parties, provide some support for staff appreciation and any other duties as required and agreed upon.  For more information, contact Marie Tyrell (989.6774).

  • Athletics: We are always looking for volunteers for coaching - volleyball and basketball in particular. Contact Nick Janzen (989.6735).

  • Performing Arts: The Performing Arts Parents Association requires volunteers to coordinate fundraising, Jazz Cafe and uniforms. A special need is help with fundraising, and volunteers are needed to liaise with the outside fundraising company, distribute product, and tabulate orders.  Contact Chad Pollard (989.6770) for more information.

  • Library: We rely on volunteers to help with book fairs and also to process books so that they are ready to go on the shelves. We are blessed by those who contribute to our special events and those who perform routine tasks that are so necessary. Contact Kim Marr (989.8399).
